203 South St, Bernardston, MA
HBC, named after ancient Glacial Lake Hitchcock, started as 10-barrel farm brewery in May 2016. It was located in Whately, MA amidst views of Sugarloaf Mountain, Hitchcock Hopyard, historic tobacco barns and acres and acres of active farmland. In October 2019 the brewery moved to the new location in Bernardson.
The brewery’s opening was the culmination of a 30-year vision for the husband and wife team of Rich & Geneva Pedersen. After working for 30 years in their respective professions, Rich in the IT field and Geneva in the medical field, they decided to retire and follow their dreams.
A light bodied copper ale, presenting a soft malt sweetness with a hint of roast and juiciness to finish. An all around easy drinking winter warmer.
This is our debut into the hard seltzer arena. Beautiful to look at with a light cherry color from the fruit puree. Bubbly and fresh on the palate with a hint of black cherry. Finishes clean and goes down quick.
Our Hurricane Porter infused with a Raspberry reduction made from local raspberries from the Nourse Berry farm down the road in Whately, MA. The light raspberry notes blend nicely with the chocolate and coffee notes of the Hurricane Porter.
IPA - Imperial / Double
A big West Coast style DIPA, golden in color with plenty of piney and tropical fruit hop bite from the Simcoe and Nelson hops.
Stout - Irish Dry
A traditional Irish style Stout with roasty notes of coffee and chocolate.
Lager - Helles
A light crisp German Helles (Lager) lightly hopped with Hallertau Mittlefrau German Hops. A beer like your Uncle BuDdy would make when in a cold mountain Colorado Stream…Dilly Dilly
An easy drinking golden ale that is light and crisp. Clear and golden in color, it finishes clean with just a hint of citrus from the local Cascade hops from Four Star Farms in Northfield.
IPA - American
A delicious citrusy east coast style IPA. Made with a bucketload of dry hopped Citra hops. Light in color, this beer is a showcase for the grapefruit and lemon flavors that Citra hops provide.
IPA - Imperial / Double
A New England Style Almost Double IPA with an easy drinking body and notes of Honey yet finishes dry. A nice floral aroma of citrus and pineapple from the dry hopped mosaic hops.
Pale Ale - American
A crisp mid-west style Pale Ale with a slight malt forward and complex body that is well balanced by Columbus Hops. Leaves the palate clean and ready for the next sip
Traditional Porter with a rich and delicious mouthfeel and notes of chocolate and roasted coffee that finishes clean.
